MACC’s premiere incarnation is an isolated local bus stop on the edge of the Pollino National Park, Basilicata. It is hoped that the space will ultimately become a valued feature of the community enabling international artists to explore and realise unique ideas and radical concepts within this little-known area of Italy.

For this inaugural exhibition MACC will present the work of  David Austen, who is creating a site-specific work called BLACK HEART.

I thought of many things

I thought of Vian’s weapon, the Heart Snatcher

I thought of Eliot’s hollow men

I thought of the Tin Man in the Land of Oz

I thought of an exiled writer in a land of rock

I thought of Christ’s sacred heart

I thought of the continual wait of Vladimir and Estragon

I thought of Nusch and Paul Éluard

I thought of a black heart in a bus stop

CUORE NERO

Ho pensato a molte cose

Ho pensato all’arma di Vian, Lo Strappacuore

Ho pensato agli uomini vuoti di Eliot

Ho pensato all’Uomo di Latta nel regno di Oz

Ho pensato a uno scrittore esiliato in una terra rocciosa

Ho pensato al Sacro Cuore di Gesù

Ho pensato all’attesa continua di Vladimiro ed Estragone

Ho pensato a Nusch e Paul Éluard

Ho pensato a un cuore nero nella pensilina di una fermata dell’autobus
